ABOUT:
The Joshua Meurin Soccer Scholarship Memorial Fund was started after Joshua’s tragic death in an automobile accident on August 1, 2009. Joshua was a consummate soccer player who began playing as a rambunctious 5 year-old with the New Braunfels Youth Soccer Association. 
His passion and love of the game was apparent through the years as he moved from the recreational level to the competitive club level with the Lions FC where he played for seven wonderful years. 
He played high school ball at Canyon HS his freshman and sophomore years and then, after his family moved, he transferred to New Braunfels HS to finish out his high school career. After graduation, Joshua attended Texas State University to pursue a degree in Industrial Engineering while also working at Los Cucos Restaurant in New Braunfels.
We’re currently seeking corporate and individual donations for our golf tournament.

For the past ten years, the Joshua Meurin Memorial Soccer Scholarship has been funded by our annual benefit, online donations and the annual Josh Meurin Memorial Soccer Games that are played by the two high schools that Josh played for. Consequently, due to the community’s generous support and donations over the years, we have awarded $30,000 in college scholarships to local high school seniors primarily at both Canyon and New Braunfels High Schools, and with your help, we will be able to continue this tradition in years to come.
However, this year we are excited to announce a new fundraising event; our first JOSHUA MEURIN SOCCER SCHOLARSHIP FUND GOLF TOURNAMENT. The tournament will be held on May 22, 2020 at Landa Park Golf Course in New Braunfels. The tournament format is a Four Man Scramble Shotgun Start starting at 8:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided and there will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place team finishers. The tournament is open to individuals, teams and corporate sponsored teams and we are offering various levels of corporate, business and individual sponsorships as well.
