In 2010, we started the Annual Memorial game when a number of Josh’s former teammates from both of the high schools that Josh played for got together to raise funds for the scholarship. That year, the Alumni teamed up against the varsity squad from NBHS for a fun and nostalgic event.
In the following years, we continued using the game as a fundraiser initially with the boy’s teams from both New Braunfels HS and Canyon HS and later, when the two high schools began to play in the same district, we collected donations at both the girl’s and the boy’s games.
In 2016, the New Braunfels Youth Soccer Association got involved and youth players from the organization have participated in the opening ceremonies at both games which has been very exciting for everyone involved.
